Well, here we are, our sixteenth season, seems impossible, but true.  We started out at the Club Peace & Plenty, while building the Lodge, which we opened in 1995.  We've been through one hurricane and a lot of near misses, and just improved each year no matter what Mother Nature has given us.  We have made a lot of friends in the past years, who we hope to see for years to come. We appreciate all of you!

Speaking of Mother Nature....she did it to us again, but we were a near miss.  Plenty of water, lots of flooding, even homes washed off their foundations.  Here is a picture of the road right down the street from the lodge with 4-5 feet of water on it (those are vehicle roofs peeking out).  The high waters slowed down everyday life on the island with many roads and numerous homes flooded.  The airport was closed  for a few days and for several more weeks, planes could not land at night due to the damaged lights.

All is well now, we are pretty much dried out.  No damage to the lodge but it did slow us down a bit.

A Great Big "Atta Boy" to the state of Virginia.  In the last several years, we have had Virginians spend   over 1000 nights with us. Some from Fredricksburg, Norfolk, Roanoke, Arlington, Virginia Beach, Alexandria and many other smaller towns.  We are happy to say that 10% of the guests came from Charlottesville, a small town in the Blue Ridge mountains with a population of 40,000 and 20% of the guests came from the historical Richmond, on the James River with a population of 195,000. Virginians...We Thank You
